At the Tom Handley Open meet in Brighton last weekend, West Wight Swimming Club's Luke Herbert achieved his ultimate goal for 2012 of a regional standard time in the 100 and 200m backstroke. While the South East Regional Championships are not for another 5 months in June, twelve year old Luke has already qualified in both events for the 13 year age group.
On the 15th December the Kingfishers meet to celebrate another great year.
At this years event swimmers were given Christmas presents
and two handmade trophies were awarded for
Best Effort and Best Attendance.

Congratulations on a fantastic Team effort in round 1. We must have surely been the smallest team there, but definitely the most determined - with some swimmers swimming in up to 7 events and also swimming in 3 different age groups to fill gaps, but still gave it 100% to gain as many point as they could for the team, which was fantastic.
